Towards the end of Summer, a county team of 15 organised a volunteering day at Heyswood for employees of the SageFoundation.
A total of 120 employees gave up their volunteer day to help us at Heyswood. An amazing day was had with them working in small groups of about 10 on various tasks that needed doing, these included; painting inside buildings to clearing Himalayan Balsam. The volunteers were enthusiastic and did a fantastic job.
One of the volunteers commented “Brilliant day, amazing achievements, wonderful to accomplish so many jobs that needed doing and inspiring to do more!”
As the day came to a close, the Chief Executive Officer of SageFoundation, who had been one of the volunteers, announced they will donate £5,000 towards the Low Ropes Challenge Course! What a fantastic surprise for the county.
Watch out for future news on this project to create a new activity at Heyswood.
We would like to express our Big Thanks to SageFoundation and their employees for giving up their time and also for the donation to the new Heyswood activity.
